Chicago seos company is hiring a new CEO, after the company’s previous chairman, Peter Lohman, stepped down.
Michael Schatz, a former partner at McKinsey & Company, will join the company in April, according to a company news release.
Schatz has been a senior adviser to Chicago Seo since January, and the company announced in December that it would start a $500 million expansion into China.
“We’re committed to building a great company that can grow in new markets and reach new audiences and meet the needs of the next generation of consumers,” Lohmans son, Stephen, said in a statement.
“We are thrilled to welcome Michael to the Seo family.”
Lohmans retirement from McKinsey, which helped shape the company, also will be a boon for Chicago Seos new leadership.
Chicago Seoes board had been looking for a new leader for months, but was forced to choose between the two.
Lohmann was seen as a candidate who would give Chicago SeoS focus on building a strong brand and a more diversified business.
Schatz, 39, had been at McKinley & Company since 2003.
He was a former managing director of a global corporate consulting firm and an associate at McKinseys venture capital firm.
