When it comes to the Roosterers, they’re just another NRL club.
Source: News Corp Australia But there’s a little something for everyone.
I’d love to see the Roopas, Raiders and Dragons go all the way and I hope they win it all.
There are plenty of things that will be up for grabs when the NRL starts on Thursday, and there’s no doubt they’ll be at the forefront of those.
The Roostards have won six games in a row and are currently 12th in the competition, with an eight-game win streak at the weekend.
They’ve played two tough series against the Bulldogs and Broncos, and they’ll get a great chance to win their seventh game of the season when they play Canberra on Friday night.
The Raiders are looking to avoid their worst start since 2012 and are in a position to take a big step towards the top four at the halfway point of the NRL season.
But they’re yet to win in the past six weeks, and their three losses came against Newcastle, Wests Tigers and Manly.
Rabbitohs coach Anthony Griffin knows that this season will be a struggle for his team.
He’s looking to make a mark at the Roos, who he has guided to the NRL finals every year since 2013.
Griffin, who won two premierships in a season at Canterbury in 2013, is also confident he can turn things around.
“I’m pretty confident in our group,” Griffin said.
“We’ve got a good mix of young players that have shown their worth in the NRL.
It’s just about making sure we continue to grow.
We’ve been in the finals for five years now and we’re going to have to prove ourselves again this year.”
There’s a good chance the Roast will go for their eighth win of the year when they take on the Titans at ANZ Stadium on Thursday night.
The Raiders and Roostats have had a rough start to the season, but are looking more like a team capable of making the finals.
The Titans have been in a good run of form and have a bye following the Roo’s clash with the Bulldogs, but they’ll still need a big win to take them over the Roops.
A win would put them two points clear of the Rooyas, who are eight points clear at the top of the table.
They’ve been playing tough football recently, with the Titans leading the competition in points scored and averaging just under 30 per cent of the game.
So the Roopers are likely to need to put in a lot of work, and make sure they keep the ball moving when they face a tough defence.
