Seo ha Joon, the founder of Ecommerce Seo, a Singapore-based ecommerce marketplace and e-commerce marketplace, is no stranger to controversy.
In October, the company was suspended from the marketplace after it was revealed that it had failed to pay employees as promised, a practice that many in the industry call “pay-to-play.”
The company also faced accusations of paying workers less than their fair share of the company’s revenues.
In October, Ecomuateseo CEO, Seo Ha Joon resigned and said that he had made mistakes in his past, but he said he did not intend to let the controversy overshadow his company’s growth.
While Seo Joon made headlines in November after the suspension of the Ecomineseo marketplace, he has since remained mum about his reasons for leaving.
He told The Straits Times that he was leaving because of the pressure that the company faced from its rivals.
“I didn’t want to be seen as the CEO of an agency that was losing money, and I also wanted to be able to put pressure on my peers to be more transparent,” Seo said.
“We had to make a choice.
The company was losing millions every month, but we could not keep doing what we were doing.”
Ecomuate Seo was founded in 2013 and is one of the largest online retailers in the region.
According to the company, it is the only seo-based marketplace in Singapore.
In 2017, it received over 2 billion Singapore dollars ($2.1 billion).
“Our growth is on track,” Seolu Seo told The Times.
“Our team of 20-30 people is doing a great job, and we are growing exponentially.”
